The instructions below will guide you through building one rack, all necessary sub-components, and the process of setting up and using all required programs, scripts, and analysis pipelines. Each rack allows running eight animals, four on each of two conveyors, both of which are simultaneously controlled by one Arduino unit to improve synchrony. The processing power of the recommended computer limits OBS to handle only eight simultaneous camera inputs, hence the unit controls only two conveyors. The placement of cameras, references tracked by DeepLabCut, and algorithms for detecting and analyzing certain movements are customizable, but some knowledge about 3D modeling, 3D printing, and coding in Python will be required if you desire to do such customization.
